Jessie Jasko

Hey there!

I have spent most of my life in Barboursville, West Virginia, with my parents, my sisters, and, of course, our dog Luna. I am the oldest of three girls and have had the privilege to study and Franciscan University. I am a sophomore theater major with minors in theology and youth ministry. Now, the Lord has called me to mission at Damascus!

The Lord has been preparing me in so many ways to serve as a missionary in the retreat and camp setting. As an older sister, I have always been drawn to mentorship and the Lord prepared me to encounter youth though this vocation. I have served with my parish in VBS and confirmation retreats and now as a core team member for parish retreat ministries at Franciscan. Through all these encounters, the Lord has grown in me a passion and love for His children. The youth of today are in desperate need of encounter, and I think that one of the best places they can encounter the Lord is at Damascus.

The Lord called me to Damascus through a whirlwind of the Holy Spirit. I love serving as a missionary at summer camp and applied to two for the summer of 2025. Through a divine arrangement of events, the Lord called me to apply and interview for Damascus over the course of two days… and here I am! He is so good, and I am so excited to have the privilege to let Him work through me to bring others to a personal encounter!

This summer, I will be serving on program staff! I get to minister to the campers through high adventure activities and skits and show them that life with Christ is truly an awesome adventure. My desire for this summer is to deepen my relationship with the Holy Spirit and to be a vessel of life to others. The Lord desires YOUR good and that means He wants YOU to live a life a joy!
