Rylee Schor

Hello!

I am from the small town of Ashtabula, Ohio. I have just begun my college adventure at Walsh University in North Canton, where I study Biology Pre-Professional. Being actively involved in high school and now on campus, the Lord has taught me so much about myself and has revealed how He can work through me as a daughter of the King. Throughout high school, I attended various retreats, ministry events, and summer camps, where I immersed myself in the community and truly understood the impact of selfless service and community, ultimately intensifying my love of service even more!

My junior year of high school, I participated in a program that altered my outlook on the world and sparked a revival in my heart to “give freely as I have received” (Matthew 8:10). I became a Student Visionary for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. In this program, I led a team of about twelve high schoolers through a seven-week campaign to raise as much money as we could for cancer research. During these seven weeks, I met incredible people, such as survivors and leaders, who contributed to forming us. This program taught me the importance of community and showed me that even though I am young, the Lord has cultivated leadership in me to carry out His will and make an impact in our world. After this program, I embraced this newfound leadership and am beginning to discover what it truly means to be a woman as leader.

After high school, I had a yearning to continue this leadership and service in college. Even in just the first semester of college, I have witnessed the Lord working through others and the miracles He has performed on campus. Through Ignite, our night of worship and praise, and personal Holy Hours, I have felt a deep revival in my soul that I didn’t even know was possible. Being surrounded by people who love the Lord more than anything else and being able to serve on campus has unlocked a profound sense of joy that I didn’t know my heart was capable of. Even though I participate heavily in Campus Ministry and other various clubs and events at Walsh, I still felt as though I was being called into something more. I came upon Damascus and knew this was what the Lord was calling me to—to be fully immersed in a setting that is committed to awakening Catholics out of their lukewarm state, providing opportunities to encounter the Lord, and equipping young people to go out into the world and evangelize. I am absolutely blessed by this opportunity at Damascus to share our Catholic faith with other young people.

Through serving on Program staff, facing outdoor escapades alongside the campers, and stepping outside of our comfort zones in other activities, I am excited to see growth not only in the campers but also in myself and my relationship with the Lord!

I would love for you to join me on this mission through your prayers and support!!
